Colouring for Adults

A few weeks ago the lovely Amelia of Amelia's Magazine held a competition to produce artwork for an adult colouring in book. Very chuffed to say I got in, especially excited this morning to reveal the book is PRINTED and now available on this kickstarter page.

Colouring books have been steadily growing in popularity among the 'adult' world for a few years.Illustrators like Johanna Basford have brought technical skill and beauty to the genre, in place of dodgy farm animals. The act of colouring in is said to reduce stress. My anxiety riddled body can definitely vouch for that. It also gives modern eyes a much needed break from screens. Amelias Colourful Colouring Companion has such a collection of illustrative styles that you don't have to lose you mind over a complex mandala. Maybe try my surreal loose space scene? Subtle not subtle.

The best part of this for me is being involved with so many talented illustrators. The creative community can be strange. One minute you're stalking your faves on instagram and (probably, if you're me) weeping at their talents and then something like this happens and you're colleagues in a sense. Comrades of the craft.

So PLEASE when you purchase this amazing collection of original interactive artwork, share your colouring delights! Buy lots for Christmas and use the hashtag #ameliasccc so we can all see your wonderful creations.
